1. Description
The full name of the four-jaw self-centering chuck is a manual four-jaw self-centering chuck for machine tools. It consists of a disc body, four small bevel teeth and a pair of jaws. The four small bevel teeth are engaged with the coil wire, the back of the coil wire has a flat thread structure, and the claws are equally installed on the flat thread. When the small bevel tooth is pulled with a wrench, the coil will rotate, and the flat thread on the back of it will make the claw approach or withdraw to the center at the same time. Because the pitches of the flat rectangular threads on the coiled wire are equal, the movement distances of the four claws are equal, which has the effect of automatic centering.
There are two types of jaws of the four-jaw self-centering chuck, including integral jaws and separate jaws. The overall claw is a claw that integrates the base claw and the top claw, and a pair of overall claw is divided into four positive claws and four reverse claws. A pair of separation claws has only four claws, and each claw is composed of a base claw and a top claw. In addition, soft jaws can also be provided according to user requirements, and high centering accuracy can be obtained after random configuration (grinding) to meet the clamping requirements.
The jaws of the four-jaw single-action chuck have only one type of integral jaw. One jaw can move independently for clamping eccentric and irregularly shaped parts.
